The Oleron 5.5" Beech Wood and Acrylic Wet Salt Mill by Peugeot is made from sustainably-harvested French beech wood and sparkling acrylic polished to prevent scratches and cloudiness. The beech wood is dried, turned and finished before the mill's final assembly. This clean, contemporary mill with a fresh azure blue finish is a nice addition to any table setting - from dining room to kitchen.

The Oleron 5.5" Wet Salt Mill is designed to mill salts that have too much moisture and the wrong consistency for a traditional salt mill. The Peugeot wet salt mechanism uses a spiral guide to move the salt through the mill, preventing sticking and allowing for even dispensing. The stainless steel of the French-made Oleron Salt Mill's grinding mechanism will not corrode, and is ideal for maintaining its original sharpness and resisting wear over time.

The Oleron salt grinder is made with Peugeot's Zirlion technology. It can grind the salt to a fine powder, making food taste saltier with 3x less salt than a standard grinding mechanism. 

The Zirlion mechanism is made of Zirconia, a synthetic mineral known for its strength, hardness and corrosion-resistance, ensuring that it won't chip and end up in your food or get rusty over time. Zirconia is often used for medical and aerospace applications, and is far superior to standard ceramics used for traditional salt grinders.

Note: If salt is extremely wet, it will not grind properly. To prepare such wet salt for grinding, leave it out in the air to dry for 24 to 48 hours before filling the grinder.
